Be part of a corporate project engineering group with 6 engineers.
This role will directly report to the Sr.
Manager of Engineering based at their Corporate US HQ site in Indiana This role will support projects at their local plant in VA which is a high-volume bakery plant producing cookies, wafers, crackers etc.
in a state-of-the-art site with 400K Sq.
feet, 6 Automated production lines, and 350
employees.
This role will also support projects at 2 3 other cookies, wafers, and cones plants (post Covid) in North America Note 1:
Manage multiple plant projects concurrently with budgets from $5K to $5Mill.
The projects could be a mix of production and utilities/facilities type.
Job Description:
(80%) Provide Project Engineering Functions Develop the capital project budget, Scope, Layout, Benefits, ROI, timelines etc.
Work with cross functional teams to develop project scope, RFQ, cost, P&ID, PFD, etc.
Prepare equipment layout drawings, control system plans, Handle the complete project cycle from start to completion Interface with plant construction contractors during the project commissioning and start up.
(20%) Provide Process Improvement Functions In addition to supporting Plant Directed Process improvements through capital planning and execution, recommends process improvements, and documents related business cases, that will improve production line OEE, Yield, 1st Pass Quality, or labor utilization.
Job Requirements:
Candidate Must Have:
Bachelors degree in a technical field.
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in the Food, Bakery, CPG, BioPharma Industry.

years of plant project engineering experience, handling complete project cycle.
Excellent people/communication skills working in cross functional teams.
Excellent computer skills with MS Office.
Ability to work in a fast-paced corporate and plant environment.
Able to work night shift and weekends during start-ups to work around production schedules.
Candidate Nice to Have:
BS in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
Some advanced engineering, or Project Management Professional (PMP) or PE certification Some experience with FDA, OSHA, EPA, regulations and compliance.
Experience in the Food or Bakery industry.
Experience using AutoCAD for creating engineering and layout drawings as needed Experience with electrical power distribution, waste water, refrigeration, ammonia, chilled water systems Working knowledge of industrial controls and PLCs.
